"There was a copy effect. If one commits suicide, then others will follow."

Yep. Kevorkian thought so.

Excessive overtime is routine, despite a legal limit of 36 hours a month. One payslip, seen by the Observer, indicated that the worker had performed 98 hours of overtime in a month

youve got to be kidding me! dont tell the westerners about the rough hours they are putting becuase they are working 40-70 hours PER WEEK here.....not 134/mo.

Woo said: "Suicides were not connected to bad working conditions. There was a copy effect. If one commits suicide, then others will follow."

... Thought the last part was Apple's latest slogan.

Also, if I jumped out of a window, I'd probably shout "Wooooooo!"

The copy effect is very real for suicides. Read the book "The Tipping Point" and there is a long section about it.

The article says their standard work week is 48 hours/week. Extra 24.5 overtime per week would be 72.5 hours per week. And that's assuming they are actually getting credit for all hours worked, which I doubt...

Where do you get this 134 hours/month figure?
