hope i'm on the right thread coz i need really help

Here is my problem that really annoys me so much.
Every time I connect to a wifi connection my N900 slows down so bad that i sometimes cannot do anything.

I noticed that the cause of this if i'm correct is that it automatically search for updates of the softwares which i prefer to do manually.

There are also processes that's taken up after the wifi connection has been made.

Please need help maemo community.

firstly you have to turn off the automatic update search ..(can search from wiki) secondly see in internet connections if your wifi is set to 100MW(recommended if far from router) or 10MW(recommended for normal speed and close to router) and also try changing the power saving mode to intermediate to maximum or vice virsa ..
