Is there a dbus event or some hook somewhere to detect when the top-level window has changed or gotten focus on the N900?

I want to run a 'renice' command on whichever window is in use at the current time.

Hey jackburton,

I don't think that there is an event or hook. But you can run a daemon which continuously checks which program is the foreground app.

See here: http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=10

Hope that helps,

Thanks. It's a good idea. I thought of doing this with wmctl as well.

However, I'd like it to be more integrated. Perhaps I could modify matchbox window manager to send a dbus signal?

I've not used dbus before, but this would be a decent hook, I think.

Would I want to make the change to matchbox, hildon-home, or hildon-desktop? Maybe hildon-home and hildon-desktop already have dbus signals for this sort of thing?
