So I noticed that there were a few artists who were duplicated in the media player because of capitalization issues (The and the, etc.) So i fixed them up using my PC. The problem now is that the n900 media won't detect these changes, and it seems that I need to remove and rebuild the media player cache. I know that the files are handled using tracker, but what command would I need to use to have the tracker rescan and update all of the cache? Is there a cache file i can just remove to make it rescan? I'm not familiar with tracker, and all its options make it even more confusing.

Even rebooting did not make the device reindexing?

The device reindexed, but that made it worse. Since i only changed the ID3 tags (filename is the same) the media player KEPT the files with the incorrect tags and then created duplicates with the correct tags! So now i have multiple double entries. There has to be a way to clear the media player cache without reflashing...

). I was stumped at first myself, read up a bit on tracker and ended up using one of the prescribed methods there, which, if memory serves me right, was running tracker-processes -r as user in an xterm.Before you do, please re-check on that, as my memory is flaky already
And be prepared re-indexing will take a while.

The cause is that i have too much music an videos on

So this could be a solution to delete Tags in the Tag Cloud for nomore used Tag's in the Images?
I'm a little bit afraid to test it myself. I'm a Linux beginner...
