Hi there:

I'm gonna install CSSU Stable, but before doing that, I would like to set my repositories first, any advice about the 'best' setting?

Regards

Have you read?
http://wiki.maemo.org/CSSU

Repositories should be as stock PR 1.3.1 or as a minimum the Nokia SSU catalogue.

Stock devices will have Nokia Apps, Nokia SSU, Ovi, maemo.org Extras.

During installation of CSSU (done via the wiki page) a Community SSU catalogue will be added.

Thanks for the link: yeah, I read it some days ago. I was just trying to find a standard baseline for the repositories, because I have some warnings and errors when I try to update the package database on a terminal (apt-get update).

I will follow your advice, and I will set my repositories as a brand new N900

Thanks

You will get errors (well actually warnings) via apt-get.
This is due to expired gpg keys on Nokia repos.

It's is recommended to do all updates via HAM (stock application manager). It maybe slow but there is a reason why this is the recommended method.

What is the reason?

Expired GPG keys: Reason

CSSU update via HAM is because fapman has been known to do "apt-get autoremove" after every operation, by default. Probably also less safe with fapman because it doesn't know which packages are system critical and if accidentally updated into some developer unstable version it will cause issues with the device. HAM doesn't show that issue though.
