As cooldubai mentioned, you can install ConnectNow Internet connection switch, which is an application/widget that allows you to instantly connect to one user specified internet connetion when you tap the widget icon.

If you want to install it via X-term use:

Code:
sudo gainroot
apt-get install connectnow-home-widget

Menu -> Settings -> Internet Connections -> Connect automatically -> WLAN/ or Always ask if you want to choose the WLAN, select save.
Now, whenever you'll want to use the internet, it will connect to a Wireless Network automatically.
