Hi,

I've been configuring vim to make it easier to use on the n900. I've added some of my .vimrc changes to a wiki page so that it can help others:

If you have any cool vim tips/hacks feel free to add it to the wiki page.

Thanks

I'm impressed by the "finger scrolling" addition, though I think nano is still far more usable on the n900, partly as it extensively uses the ctrl key.

One of the main reasons I got the N800 was to use VIM.

I recently bought an Entourage Pocketable Edge Android tablet (the company responded by immediately going out of business) and discovered it didn't have VI or VIM on it!

TBH I haven't used nano much before. It does seem more straight forward to use than vim. It's definately much easier to dive into and start typing.

However I think vim might be better at text manipulation and editing because of its modal nature.

@geneven

Thats an interesting concept for a device. Imagine using vim with handwriting recognition. It could be an effecient way to manipulate text.
