I just reflashed my N900 and found this new setting option under "setting".

Enter code to remove operator lock!

I dont understand that, I've asked that question here before, and no one managed to answer it...

Yeah this is new to me. I never seen them before in my previous reflashes! Just did the reflash and found this lol. Weird huh! yet my phone still working with my operator lol. I've been using it oversea as well. with an older firmware (leaked).

But I guess Nokia selling phones under operators contract in UK and USA. Therefore I guess that is for them. Since our is unlocked model then it should be fine.

I suppose the N900's manufactured with 1.2 on board could technically be operator locked. A bit late I think!

That option allows the SIM card to be unlocked.

isnt this to unlock the phone with the puk code(dont know the codes name in english)i think because you can get into the phone without a card thats the only option to unlock the card?!

the operator lock stops you using a different networks sim in the phone, not unlocking the sim
but my phones not locked to any network
and ive had this feature for months?

I bought my N900 with SimLock free from Amazon.

Strange things are happening.


BTW
Other SimCards works fine

guys trust me.if you type your pin 3 times wrong you have to type your puk to unlock your card.because you can acces your phone if your card is locked you have to do this(unlocking your sim)in your phone/settings.
it has nothing to do with your phones sim lock.its just to unlock your sim if you typed your pin 3 times wrong.
