Hello everyone, let's put together a list of headphones compatible with the Nokia N900. It can be any type of headphones(wired/wireless, etc.), as long as you know for a fact that they work (or don't work) well with the N900.

If you have personal experience with certain models, feel free to write a short review.

The goal of this thread is to help everyone who is choosing/looking for headphones to go with their Nokia N900.

I will update the list regularely.

100% Compatible (no issues):
Grados SR80i
Senheiser MX560
Skullcandy S2INCZ-036
Sony MDRXB40EX
Sony MDRXB400

This might be stupid 'question' but how could they not work with n900? I believe those headphones are quite standard stuff? Only difference could be those ones with microphone?

Well, some wireless headphones could have some problems and may not be fully compatible or some headphones with microphone could also have issues. That is why your input is needed, so we can put this together, find out and recommend a list of those that really do work. Or if people just want to ask, they can ask here, hopefully also with an answer if they're not sure. I hope that makes sense.

Yeah - the headSET (where there are problems) thread is already elsewhere. There are general audio issues with the N900 (I have a question on that I'll ask elsewhere) but there shouldn't be any issues with headPHONES.

Grados SR80i for the audiophiles out there... although you'll want to be playing flac files or 256kbit or higher mp3s to appreciate the quality of these headphones.

I actually use them without an amp... and they work beautifully, although I am sure with the support of a portable amp they would be even better.

The thread is needlessly confusing: HeadPHONES work. HeadSETs usually don't.

i'd rather know why the stock n900-headphones dont work with most other devices?!
i know its because this ~2mm socket at their base, but why is that? it prevents the jack from entering any device completely, resulting in faulty sound on any device i've tried (samsung laptop, ipod nano 5th, creative zen). basically just like when you take "normal" headphones and dont insert them completely.
