having used the n900 i was able to stream live epl games
(eplsite.com atdhe.me firstrowsports any of those sites)
there was also an app that gave you live tv from different countries.

i know the n9 doesnt have flash in the stock browser..but there is a flash player available...

is there any one interested in developing a live tv app? is it even possible?

ps it doesnt have to use the stock browser...just be able to stream

Live internet TV stations constanly die or get shut down every week.

I think something like this would be a pain for anyone to maintain.

Those sites you posted, do any of them have a mmc: address so they can be viewed directly through Mplayer and not needing to be seen directly on their web page?
