Hello,

I try to install tcpdump on my N810. using apt-get I get the following error:
Code:
apt-get install tcpdump
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
tcpdump: Depends: libssl0.9.8 (>= 0.9.8e-1) but it is not installable
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
I already tried to
Code:
ln -s //usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.7 /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.8
but without success.
I could not find a source for libssl0.9.8 for the n810.
Can somebody point me to a possible solution?

you didn't tell which OS version you are running. It could be that you have chinook and have diablo repositories enabled which could cause that kind of problem.

Thanks for your help. You guessed right. I had diabolo repositories enabled, because I thought this is the right repo to install. Switching to chinook solved the problem.

The software version is 2.2007.51-3. Is it necessary to re-flash the device to upgrade to a newer version?
Do you think it would be useful to do that?

yes you would need to reflash. Personally I would recommend the update, you get imho better mail client and browser with the update among other smaller things that I can't remember any more. Perhaps there is some kind of summary of biggest changes somewhere

I followed your advice and updated to the latest OS version. Re-installing the apps was no problem.
At the moment I have troubles accessing windows network shares. Although I can access linux samba shares the n810 does not find the windows network folders.
