It still shows 2.5G when I click on GSM.
How do I completely turn off Internet scanning without going on Offline mode?

can't you go to settings, then phone, then change your network mode to GSM. That's what I've done without the applet and it seems to stay on 2G all the time.

Go to status menu, click on Internet Connection and a menu appears with all the internet connection options. The one you are currently using should say disconnect. Click on it and internet scanning is off.

I did that and my battery lasted over 3 days with moderate use.

Without internet and bluetooth lasted 3 1/2 days with phone on 24 hours. Only used internet when I need it and switched off again. With it all switched on lasts about a day.

Tried it this week just to see how long it lasted. Normally I have all switched on as thats what its for

I have done this, although still says 3G on the status menu, so doesn't that mean that it is still scanning and you haven't really done anything?

I mean, you could be disconnected from the Internet and still be scanning for 3G network.
My question is, how do you stop scanning completely whilst keeping GSM?

PS. 3 days is like unbelievable lol

I have also done that thing from network mode option, but it doesnt helps. I've changed the mode to gsm but still it shows 2.5 written below the network tower icon.
