I am testing the tomotko flashcard application available in extras testing. It's a nice little app for learning vocabulary in foreign languages.

Anyhow there is a problem where it is not possible to access any of the menus except for the help one, so I cannot get to the preferences to set the language, or start a quiz. I think this has happened with the Qt update in Pr1.1, and is similar to the issues reported here for another Qt application, Qstardict:
http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...6&postcount=57

Here are screenshots showing the bug for tomotko:

The first one is the managing glossaries window, which is the one shown at startup. The second one is the menu that opens when I click at the top. As you can see there is no Preferences or Actions menu.

Just to let you know that I have installed the latest version of Fremantle SDK and that I'm able to reproduce the problem. I will try to fix it ASAP. I don't have much free time though so it may take a while.

I just installed tomotko to use it as a study tool but for my life i wasnt able to find the actions pane so I could import a glossary. This must be the reason why. I am really looking forward to the fix. If anyone else knows how to load a glossary i'd like to know.

one thing that works to get the app up and running:
- download the windows or linux version
- sort out your settings, import dictionaries,..
- copy the .toMOTko folder from your home / windows profile folder to your home on the phone .. (overwrite what is there and also change permissions to user (if you copy through ssh with user root at least)

Thanks for the workaround.

To properly fix the problem, the application needs to be fully hildonized. I have created a fremantle
branch in the svn repository for this purpose. You can follow toMOTko's
blog (https://sourceforge.net/apps/wordpress/tomotko/) for updates on this.

Here is an executable file of toMOTko. It's not perfect but it's functional enough IMHO. I have still a few things to do before it's completed.

To use it, you must already have installed toMOTko-0.11.2-9. Then, you have to overwrite the previous toMOTko executable file with the new one. Do not forget to make the file executable:

Code:
chmod +x toMOTko

Thank you, Frederic. I've been waiting for this.

I replaced executable "toMOTko" in opt/maemo/usr/bin/ with the one from your post. Did the chmod. Yet, the application does not start.

I think it's in /usr/bin directory. Anyone can confirm this?

BTW, feedback would be appreciated.

It says, "error while loading shared libraries: libQtMaemo5.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

The previous version did start but had the menu issue.
