Is anyone else having trouble find apps in the Android Market when using NITDroid ?

If I search for "shazam" I get nothing.

Same with the F1 Live Timing App by Softpauer http://www.softpauer.com/f1app/


Any ideas ?

NITDROID Market is limited until a fix is found if you have another android phone you get take the apks from it and install them on NITDROID.

This is a known issue that has been explained many times on the help thread and announce thread as well as on http://forum.nitdroid.com/.

Please use search function.

I have an idea....

It is due to paid/protected apps not being available (DRM crap!).
This also happens when you root legit android phones. Happened on my X10.
Solution: I ran a fix via ABD for the x10, it MAY work on the N900?
It's designed for X10 and 1.6 Donut, not Froyo.
I will try it when I get time, I don't mind reflashing.
It's a 24 hours turnaround before you know if it works.

Essentially, it's a matter of modifying your "fingerprint" on Google servers, and when they do their refresh/reboot phase every 24hours, you can then have all apps available!

I have the original files on my computer somewhere and I'll see what can be done or what may need to be modified to fix it to work with Froyo (or pass it onto e-yes and DJ_Steve).

Page one has what's working and what isn't. Otherwise, it's just an Android build - Go Nuts with it.

As for this market fix:

I can not test this fix as I am at work and no access to WiFi for NITDroid.
This most likely will not work, as it tries to match the build version to another file, but if we can "spoof" it to thinking it's a HTC Desire/Nexus One, that could also work.

If anyone would like to try be a guinea pig and test this fix:

Then, once it reboots, go into the dialer, and type

*#*#2432546#*#*

A message should pop up into the status bar after a few seconds depending on your connection speed saying checkin succeeded.

Now you’re good to go, open Market and download away

Terminal Shell Method:

Get the Froyo.zip file from XDA developers forum and copy on root of your sdcard, then open terminal shell on our phone.
reboot

Upon booting back up, open Dialer and type in the following code

*#*#2432546#*#*

Once you see a notification in the notification bar that says checkin succeeded you can now open Market and are done.

I do not think it will work as it's not an official build or device, but if we mix a file from a legit device running Froyo, it COULD work.
If someone can send me build.prop & froyo.prop from a legit device with Froyo, I will see how it goes.

It's easier to find .apk and manually install them. (But yea, it's piracy)

If you are like me and have a regular android phone you can backup the apks to your sd card them install them on NITDROID.

Or, like I did, buy a game from the developer site, like Gameloft, and they will send you a download link for the APK.

I would rather have the market fixed so I can directly buy games such as Need For Speed Shift and Sims 3 Collectors edition from the Market.

It is a shame to have to hold back and not have games when you have the money to buy them due to the Market being fragmented!

Oh well...we are the ones with the unofficial software....so we have to wait for an unofficial fix
