Hi all:

Is anyone using the N900 for Audible from Amazon.com (audio books)?

Please help!!! I tried transferring the files from the Audiblemanager to my N900 and at first it requested for format 3. After downloading format 3, it seem N900 still unable to play it due to "Media format not supported".

You can install the Garnet Palm emulator program and it is then fairly easy to run Audible from there. There is a thread on the subject. I will be happy to help if you have further questions.

You have to get it from

http://www.access-company.com/products/gvm/

and when you look for the Audible software it's on the Audible site and is difficult to find.

Hi Geneven; I installed Garnet VM, but how do you use that thing? I had only Address, Calc, Date Book, Memo Pad, Prefs and To Do List. Is there some way I'm supposed to install the audio reader? Please advise. Thanks.

Yes, you go to the www.audible.com site and add the .prc program available there.

As I said in an earlier message

(1) There's a thread on this subject on this site.

(2) The program on Audible.com is hard to find.

I'm going to be on the train later but when I get time I will go to www.audible.com and search for Palm and try to find the program for you. I saw it recently so I know it's there.

When I have time I'll try to find the thread on this site that tells you more about this issue.

Go here.

http://download.audible.com/audibleair/ota.htm

Download the Treo software and install it in the Garnet emulator.

Additional questions:
- How do I load the Audible files on my N900
- How do I close that Garnet VM? (currently I press the camera button because I have Shortcutd installed)

Thanks! Great help.

Nope. Had to change settings from Portrait (full) to just Portrait. Otherwise there's no X, and ctrl+backspace just types XXXXXXX

The sound is lousy...from the sample audio provided. I need a better audible player. Anyone got another suggestion? thanks.
