I guess it probably depends on which SDK you are asking about. 
I just recently installed the Qt SDK on my Arch Linux system, using their graphical installer. Qt has continued to improve their install system over the years, it works pretty well now. I would think it'll work just fine on a Gentoo system as well.

I walked through the installation guide and it seems to be, that there are only instructions for the text based installer on Debian and SuSE systems.
On the other side the GUI installer is not recommended because of stability. Are there recommendation how to install on a Gentoo system?
