I have been thinking about doing this lately since I have been in the process of replacing my wife's Lumias shattered screen.

Her digitizer (not including lcd) was around 100 USD, CRAZY!

So I was a bit scared to look and see how much the unibody and screen would cost for the N9.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that I could get both for around 50 USD plus shipping!!!!!!

My screen was scratch free after everyday use for 2 years, but during a football match I asked my wife (hulk hands) to hold it for me during the game, after I came off the pitch she hands it back to me and guess what I see, 2 scratches, not bad, but now they bother me to no end.

The unibody was ok, but I was carrying it without the case that came with it, and it slipped while I was trying to put it in my pocket and landed on the corner near the simcard, so it took a little damage there. After always having it in the case I noticed that it started to rub and discolor parts of the unibody.

So I am really starting to want to refresh the old N9.

Anybody else do something similiar?

Is the metal one (comes from where by the way ?!) lighter than the plastic unibody ?

My screen is also scratched and after replacing my Wife Lumia 800 screen I am considering doing the same to my N9. Quite keen on a white case too.

do it, you won't regret.

just find a good screen that comes withe light sensor, other way you may have problems like your n9 doesn't boot with the new screen :-)
