My N9 won't let me view new texts. It will mak the text sound, and have the preview of the text on the lock screen. But the message is not in the Messages app. I can send texts just fine. It will also make the text message sound multiple times, like one every couple minutes a couple times after I get the text like it has gotten multiple texts, which it hasn't.

This is one of those crappy situations which don't have a proper fix yet iirc.

Try rebooting your phone and if you still end up with this problem you may have to reset tracker which ends up deleting all your messages, call logs and contacts.

You may want to use Nokia Suite to backup messages before doing a tracker reset. Contacts as we all know have multiple methods of being backed up. If you are syncing contacts with an online service, its important to switch off all internet connections on your device or better still temporarily disable the online account.
