I've set up my google talk account but I couldn't figure out whether it's possible to use it for voice chat!?

If so, how do I do that - the option "internet call" is available only for contacts with real phone numbers...

If you have contacts added you get a list of people you can internet call - you shouldn't need to use the dialling pad in that case.

I believe the voice option is dependent on the contact's client capabilities. So if the other party is using Pidgen or a client that is not capable of voice, the voice button will be disabled.

That being said, it is possible to do voice and video via google talk, I've done it and it's awesome.

Gtalk need both side has the hardware to make voice call and video call, e.g. if mary's laptop has webcam, you'll find an option as "Appel vidéo Google Talk“, if she doesn't have, sorry, no option for make video call, you cannot only let her see you.

You can add service@gtalk2voip.com for test a video call.
