I have reported him on several occasions, resulting in his not being restrained. And by the way, your implication that abill_uk gets away with it because people don't report his rudeness is beyond absurd.

Will do. $10 is nothing.

I would appreciate if someone is willing to backport applications to n8x0 as well.

EDIT: Damn spelling.

Anyway, the question remains: Who is going to do the work?

There are a few options as I see it:

1: Programmers within the community

2: Invite Freelance Programmers to apply/bid

My intuitioin tells me that no amount of 10$ donation can help us hire a Programmer. But somebody (proffessional programmer) please help me out with the math...

1. How much is the going rate for a decent programmer for an hour?
2. How many hours will it take to....say, write a fully featured open source replacement for the Calender?

How much money do we need to actually make this a feasible option?

I'm wondering if we as maemo community could get Myriad Alien Dalvik and how much would Myriad AG want for that?
Maybe I should address this question to maemo council.

We could try, but i highly doubt we could get the necessary sum for it. Also, i highly doubt Myraid would want to mess with a "community" for a Nokia device under nokia nose.

However, if they agree, i guess people here will be willing to donate much more then just 10 bucks. I can see myself parting from 100$ for this ability.

I'm also willing to donate much more than $10 for that. I think we (council) should contact Myriad AG, because there is nothing to lose. We can all (maemo.org and Myriad AG) benefit from such deal.
