I hope you will
I learned hu 80%,ro 70%, eng 60%, windows 40%, maemo 30%, python 20% and now I will not learn how to decompress a tar.xz file.

anyway I love to see apps written in python and pyqt .
that's the apps what I like to see. With little knowledge you could modify the app in the way you want, or learn from code.

Hey, lame question here - I noticed that game can be run both with 'python' and with 'python2.5'. I've not noticed any difference (particles are lagging exactly the same way on 500-900 mhz device ).

Also, I would like to mention that 'slinshot' sh script is screwed a little - expression used to determine correct 'cd' path doesn't always work as it should. In my case, it tried to:

cd /home/opt/slinshot<holy_crap_lot_of_text_here_irrelevant_to_ bug>/bin/slingshot

...so, basically, it tried to cd to itself :| Had to manually edit cd command to absolute path.

Of course, I'm not complaining - I just hope it will be useful to make this port better, especially considering upcoming repos release

good to have you Estel on this org. you are very active
because of you now I do not need to overclock to see if is lagging with particles.
I do not overclock my phone for a while because I do not see much deference.

Yeah, thanks for that. I'm trying to get my head around the whole process of pushing it to the repos...

Haven't searched too hard but haven't seen any FAQ on it, how to do it, step-by-step.

So far, I got the project registered on garage, now in the limited spare time I have I plan on to try and figure out what else is required...

The python builder is a step, will surely use that... Other than that, so far I'm not very clear on the process...

Hope I haven't stepped anybody's area, but I uploaded slingshot to the extras-devel. It is version from http://kumatux.org/Applications.html containing N900 key-layout fix, image files with corrected height and corrected starting positions. I only add force to fullscreen.

Packaging is from Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty) with optification.

As written earlier game is little bit slow.

****************
For developers:
If you are interested in to work with this, here are instructions:

Prerequirements:
*scratchbox with extras-devel (not necessarily, used for fetching sources)
*debian-based computer (virtual works too)(not necessarily? dpkg used, might be available for other systems too?)
*garage-account with upload access (not garage-project!) (used for pushing deb to to the builder)

Code:
scratchbox
apt-get source slingshot
exit
cd slingshot*
#make modifications
#add version number in debian/changelog
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -sa -S -i -us -uc
cd ..

#THIS IS EXAMPLE:
# use correct package version (i.e. filenames)
# use your garage-account
rcp slingshot_0.8.1p-4.tar.gz slingshot_0.8.1p-4_source.changes slingshot_0.8.1p-4.dsc GARAGE_USER_NAME@drop.maemo.org:/var/www/extras-devel/incoming-builder/fremantle/
Wait mail for OK/Failed.
Request maintainer ship on http://maemo.org/packages/view/slingshot/
