... lucky you it is (was) Christmas. I just ported it to pyside... it was like doing nothing ... dont know what the problem was when I tried it last time - but back then I was frustrated. Now it just did work ... I only made one minor fix to my already prepared pyside version and then it just worked... I will do some testing (first tests where successful) and then I will upload a new tar.gz to http://code.google.com/p/pymp/downloads/list
In the next couple of days - hopefully before new year .

Lucky you, you wrote this:
"in addition to the listed APIs above (provided by python-dbus, python-pyside, python-qtmobility, python-qtsparql) there are lots of packages:"

This increased my confidence, that there is no pyqt :P. Why should they put in python-pyqt if there is python-pyside? At it made me take another try .

PS: I wish I would have a N9 to create an OS-Package and test it. But I cant :P.
PPS: Now I have to do some shopping with my wife.

Hehe, I wont update the packages. So the *.deb wont work. The installer is a good thing in general. It checks package dependencies etc... and then fails as you see . But when creating packages I often do something wrong - so I like testing the packages... but without a device (N9/N900) I cant do it that easily.

Your log reminds my to say that you will also need "mplayer" and "lame" (and optional "sox") on your device to make pymp working. However I uploaded a new tar.gz (this version should use pyside)

http://code.google.com/p/pymp/downlo...ar.gz&can=2&q=

On my desktop this version runs fine. However I can imagine that there may be some fixed required for the N9. As I had to some special things for the N900 as well. Hopefully the directory structure of the N9 is the same as the N900 or more desktop-linux alike. If they have done something new it probably wont work.

Yep, it is. Mieru is using its, as does gPodder. Also applications using it can be submitted to the Ovi store.

You must be desperate . Is there ffmpeg? There may be other ways too. I may need to famliarize myself with gstreamer... if gpodder works there must be some gstreamer ... even if it is a pyhton lib or something ^^.

If you do not convert to mp3 you dont need lame/ffmpeg.
