Other users can find you by using phone number (this is: search in their contacts)

Did anyone notice that the push notification gradually fails every since the update? It works and then doesn't work once switch from wifi to data vice versa unless you relaunch the app everytime you switch connection. Now it just doesn't work altogether

Hi!
Do you have the latest beta installed?
Can you please follow this link and see if the issue persists: http://bit.ly/xmsnokian9

Best,
Aleksandra

The N9 needs WhatsApp - I even asked my friends on iPhone and Android to download XMS so we can converse in our separate countries for free, but they can't be bothered, telling me to "get WhatsApp you Nokia-lovin loser!"

Might have to deal with international SMS ($) instead. I know email is free, but the beauty of apps like Whatsapp is that it's so much more 'instant' than delving into the email client.

Oh well. Maybe by the summer..?

No offense but....
If your friends are too lazy to install it, when it's available on their platform, then you need better friends.
It's the only way you can communicate with them in a "whatsapp-like" fashion, so why wouldn't they?

for those who are desperate for whatsapp ,why do't you try web2sms instead to send low rate sms?

That's a good alternative, didn't think of that, nice suggestion.
IIRC there's an active thread at forum.meego.com...

jalyst, it's not that my friends are dlcks, they just don't see the need to download yet another app, have yet another app loaded up and have yet another comms app to juggle with all the others. I actually see their point, it must be a little annoying.

But web2sms looks interesting, that might be a good alternative.

Sunny and warm in New York today - just thought I'd add that in
