Gigalomania 0.22 in extras-devel.

Gigalomania is an open source 2D Real Time Strategy game, for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Nokia smartphones (Symbian, Maemo and Meego). The gameplay consists of researching and developing new technology with which to conquer your enemies, from rocks and sticks to nuclear weapons and spaceships. You can advance through ten different ages, from the stone age to the future. There are 28 different maps to play through.

Wow, looks very neat, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Seems like a very original concept. Nice find.

Ok, maybe not THAT original concept in the end, but unlike any other maemo game for sure and works sweetly (thought more about Populous, frankly, still a treat)

Who doesn't know MegaLoMania? It was huge on the MegaDrive and Amiga.

Thinking about switching to a newer device? Not sure if your favorite Maemo/Harmattan application has an equivalent or substitution? Android sucks way less than people around here shout. Check my personally-made substitution list!

At the time of amiga I had Atari800XL C64 wars, oh yeah. Apple vs M$ of the time, heh. UK was strange with ZX Spectrum rage, good times

speaking of which (I haven't known it, srry):, would UAE4All play it? (don't own the original as atari fanboi from the time, willing to 'ebuy' it if it is a MUST)

It is not game yet, and there are nobody working on it, but of course we can speculate how that would work with touchscreen, lowering+raising land is so intuitive with left+right mouse buttons.
