When updating, it stuck on the "Installing updates..." bar & after 50 minutes & noticing the phone was hot, I decided that must have been long enough. Power down button didn't work, so I had to pull & replace the battery. Everything seems to have come back normally.
it might be helpful for future updates if the "All programs will be closed & the device will restart" message could also include "Installation will take approximately 4 minutes", or 10 minutes, or however long it should take at longest.

Found a small bug(not exactly a bug though 
), in camera UI, HD/DVD labeling strings are sort of messed, when HD is selected it shows as DVD, when DVD is selected it shows as HD.
