I've got both the Config and QtLockscreen itself installed, and know how to choose a new lockscreen. That isn't the problem I've described - it's trying to make edits to the ini file at all that I'm having trouble with.

It's no good knowing how to choose a new lockscreen when you can't get the lockscreen to look the way you want... all I'm trying to do is change the wallpaper of it.

I eventually tried doing it as sudo, but as I don't know the default sudo password, I hit a brick wall there too. And when I tried to get root, the terminal returned something about breaking the device - not exactly encouraging!

I'm getting quite frustrated now

I just went through the wiki and saw that Sakya advices not to mess with the default configuration! He wants to keep the default lockscreen functioning right if all else fails probably.

So what I would do is copy the default folder and .ini and rename them to, say, mylockscreen.

Paste them in /opt/qtlockscreen

edit the .ini and replace all "default" to "mylockscreen" in the paths

then change the background image to the one you like

that should do it

This is really getting to be head:desk territory now!

Code:
~ $ cd /opt/qtlockscreen
/opt/qtlockscreen $ mkdir tajasel
mkdir: cannot create directory 'tajasel': Permission denied
(and of course, I can't copy the files into a folder that doesn't exist)

tajasel make sure you have rootsh or sudusers installed if so,after open terminal and type sudo gainroot and then execute the command you want, but once again a think worth to mention its much easier to work with Filebox it's a file manager which gives you root assess.

Success, finally!

I was hoping to avoid installing root in case Bad Things happened, but it went flawlessly in the end

Hello again!

In response to the request, here's StarTrek lockscreen

Tap anywhere to initiate warp speed (well.. unlock)
Landscape only
Minor animations. Ship lights blink and cursor under startime
No operator name and media buttons. They did not fit the concept
The font is not unicode, works only with English.

Enjoy!

Hi zifis, you really create incredible things! Thanks!

Would it be possible for you to upload some of these again as they aren't available on hotfile anymore?
I'm most interested in the man_of_steel lockscreen you posted on page 73 of this topic. Maybe you could add them to the repository ( http://wiki.maemo.org/QtLockscreen#U..._to_Repository ) for easy access?

Thanks!

I am glad you like my configs I have uploaded man of steel in rapidshare also so you can get it Here

As for the repositories I am afraid I have no clue how to do that...

laith.m.y was kind enough to do it for me in the past but I haven't seen him for quite a while in here.

So if anyone knows how to package and upload them to repos is more than welcome to help
