Hi. How can I make the virtual keyboard appear?
Any ideas? Some dbus commands perhaps?

Would like to use the command in a Queen BeeCon widget.
Objective is to be able to:
- poke at the widget -> keyb appears.
- key in name I want -> contact of that name appears.

It might help if we knew what device you are referring to?

He means if you go to App Menu -> Settings -> Personalisation -> Text Input, there is an option to enable disable virtual keyboard.

Sorry, but I don't know the dbus command.

You could use Scout app.
Poke Scout app shortcut > Poke Search Bar > Search via VKB

Scout is almost what I wanted.
Requires 2 jabs to reach a keyboard instead of 1 if i cld get vkb to appear frm desktop.
Gonna stick with it for now until something else comes Thanks!

It also searches conversations and calender events at the same time, which is handy.
