Yes it could. It could also be BSD, or System V, or Pixie Dust.
All have as much of a chance of running the "Core" of Meltami as Meego does.

Elop never said there will be no more Maemo devices. All he said is there will be no more Meego devices, which is true as any new devices will feature the Maemo core for sure.

Elop never actually said there would never been any more MeeGo devices. If I recall correctly, he basically said there weren't going to be any more for 2011, and that it was... can't recall the exact terms he used, but something along the lines of being the 'future disruption'.

So now we're pinning our hopes for future devices based solely on what Nokia HASN'T said??
Forget about Nokia. B2G is the future for open source, open OS, open UI.
