In other words, How do you 'LOCK' the home screen icons? - I think thi is what the OP wants....
i will edit the first post..
Well if the icon is placed manually in the /usr/share/applications folder it doesn't give the option to delete. I noticed this when I first created my app on device. just copy desktop file, edit the desktop name and delete original, it should do it

Guys, someone know how to disable editing option on the homescreen? In other words, how i can LOCK homescreen icons?
We have this optioin in the n900..
