The amount of talented devs on iOS makes me obsolete really.
If I move to iOS the only thing I'll miss is a forum like tmo (sure, it has it's times...), and development (I started iOS development once or twice, but got bored of having to go back and forth to/from the VM with XCode).

We weren't talking about Android OS. It was about conventional (X11/Wayland) Linux such as Tizen or Nemo. I thought troubles with support mentioned above were about hardware, not about the OS. I don't worry about the OS. My problem with Samsung is that their hardware design is not so good as Nokia's. But it's still better if they make some medium quality handset which would have X11 or Wayland (and the rest of Linux) drivers, than not to have anything.

Not all of the developers will switch to Tizen.
I'm speaking for myself here, but when/if Maemo/MeeGo die off, and no new devices are produced, I won't move to Tizen.

The only alternatives would be Android and iOS, and tbh, I prefer the latter, the main coding language is Obj-C, which I like better than Java.

or not...
they are still more OS201x devices in the pipeline from NOKIA, just a matter of patience.
and then there is... the next billion with Meltemi devices.
most likely with Aegis squared respectively without any SDK or any such possibility, at least from factory, but as it will be build on Harmattan & Co, it may still be possible to hack 'em
hardware wise, it can't be much worse then N9 now, can it?
