It's ridiculous - what to do?
EDIT. So after powering it down a second time, this time disconnected from the USB power cable, it stopped ringing, finally. Still, this was really strange.

I've noticed that the N9 will carry on ringing sometimes with a SIP call that is answered on another device, which is some sort of bug. But I've never had the problem of the thing continuing to ring and ring and ring, even when completely powered off!
It's ridiculous - what to do?
