New News.

Microsoft succeeded in killing another possible Linux successful initiative.

Congratulations Micro$$oft.

I am sad.

What? wasn't it clear Meltemi was dead when Elop fired every Linux savvy person from Nokia?

Some people get news around one month later and then spam here... I understand the sadness but its irresponsible to start a new thread when this has had so much discussion before and its just re-opening old wounds...

Sorry guys,

I did not mean to start a thread and tick everyone off.

I did not realize that Nokia had officially announced that they are dropping it earlier than today. Today when I saw this news on many articles on many sites, including Reuters, I was confused. (a Google search will show that)
http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/...86P0CD20120726

That article does not say that Nokia officially announced, but:
"Nokia's Chief Executive Stephen Elop flagged Meltemi in a leaked video in mid-2011, but Nokia has never officially confirmed Meltemi existed. It declined to comment on Thursday."

Unfortunately, I don't claim to have information more current than Reuters. I am not sure why it became a big news today.

Anyhow, goodbye to Nokia.

No idea why this is being chosen as the death knell.
