What it is.. I contract someone to build a website for me, but before the website is completed the person who take care of my website has disappeared. I cannot contact him anymore. So I want to find out where my website is hosted so that I could change my ftp username and password. What it is that I am able to login to my ftp using ftp client filezilla but how do I change my username and password?

No it doesn't and whois isn't meant to give you that information. But it gives you an e-mail address to contact the host who in turn can tell you how to log in.

Otherwise google the hosting company and contact them for more info. Good luck!
