Ok guys, I'm coming back to my n900!

I finally decided to fix it. It had a broken USB connector that had to be replaced. I cost me about U$40 to bring it back, and I'm hoping to make it worth it.

First things, first.

It will NOT become my primary phone. Actually, it most probably will sit sim-less for the rest of it's days, but will be used continuously.

With that out of the way I want some hints, because I really don't know what still works and what new things were brought up. Some things I would like to get help setting up:

1 - Re-flashing: is it possible now to do this on a win 7 64bits machine?

Ans: It seems it is possible, although difficult, http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...nd_Workarounds Will update when I do this.

2 - USB Host Mode: How is it working nowadays?

3 - Maps and voice guidance: I didn't manage to add voice to the Nokia Maps when I still used my device (almost a year ago), does it work now (still)? How are other map apps nowadays?

4 - New/updated apps: What are newer recommendations? Productivity, ebook, social networks, instant message and others are welcome.

5 - Meego/Harmathan compatibility: Did we get any, after all?

6 - Android/Other OS's: Are they worth it? I didn't really like Android when I had my Galaxy Tab 1 - 7", to the point I gave it to my girlfriend.

7 - Any other things you may point out or something.

I know most of those topics are covered, but I don't know how valid they are where we stand right now. And I figured I if I had to fix my n900 the time would be now, because we never know when Nokia will turn off the switch of n900 servers and whatnot.

Thanks to everyone who can help and build this new thread, for new (or returning) n900 costumers!

EDIT: I didn't specify, but I will try to keep the first post updated, so others can use the answers posted by the community. This will include things that I discover myself too.

Thanks a LOT.

I know I could find everything, but specially about the new and updated apps, it would be hard to find something you're not specifically asking about.

And, you know, I intend to keep this updated in the OP so it can become more of a resource for anyone who wishes to know more about the n900 in this late stage of it's age.

TBH I can't see there being any more to add all the information is either covered in a wiki or on the thread page.

I think my links have covered all the answers (or at least have links to links of the answers)

If you have a question about an application it's probably best to ask in it's [Announce] thread. It's more likely to get the attention of the maintainer or people in the know.
