Hi,

Instinctiv is no longer active (at least on my n900)
i started to look for an alternative and i found Shazam.jar as an initial item for porting Shazam to Maemo like done before with many other great apps.

I hope someone can repack this to a working app compatible with maemo.

Thanks!

Instinctiv was a horrible app in my opinion. It almost never worked for me, managed to guess like one song out of twenty and I tested it with really popular songs. Anyway, hope someone will manage to port Shazam to our beloved N900

Maybe it will work to install Oracle Java, and then run the .jar ?

This doesn't work at all for me. I always get the message "Midomi did not hear any music". Does the N900 microphone need to be enabled somehow? I get a popup window asking for access to the microphone and camera(!), which I allow, but the site seems to get no sound from my device anyway.

There is a program called Eyrie, I think it might be what you are after. It is in Extras repo.

I tried play some popular songs from youtube to see how it works but
this app doesn't recognize much.

I guess that only Midomi or Shazam can provide good results and large database of songs...
