How could a normal human like me turn into a moderator ?
my timezone is a little different and im online most of the time on TMO, beside i have been reporting the football threads every time and it takes a long time in active topics to be deleted...

./sifo

E: just reported those 3 threads ! please report them too.

Moderators are people, and starting new thread wouldn't help.
As well spamming threads are bots, while you are human, let's show that there is difference.

The moderators are on top of this now. Some spam threads are gone within two minutes of posting. KUDOS to whoever is taking care of business.

yes today a single user created more than 6 threads with spam and advertising content. spam is now increasing day by day. may be now its time to increase moderators.

Same here.

It's not just TMO, there's been loads of spam I have undone in the wiki pages too.

It is getting annoying, is there a solution?

maybe unregistered people should not edit wikis.

And what been suggested before there should be a specific number of thanks ! to start threads and the same of Karma to edit wikis... this step will be very good in TMO if it is done ( i hope )

I suppose some CAPTCHAs here and there (new threads & wiki edits) for low karma users might be enough - as most of this spamming is probably automated and not done by living persons.

Setting an explicit karma limit might turn to catch-22 situation fairly quickly.
