I will probably do it tomorrow since pretty late here, I don't want to mess up the phone losing sleep. My phone once when MALF a day before business trip, nightmare.

back to topic, could I back up via Nokia Suite instead? On this circumstance, I wonder tracker reinstall would do any good or should I do tracker reset instead. Oh well, things messed up when I installed Coderus' version of unrestricted UI, though to be fair, it was alpha stage that time

Yes you can use Nokia Suite to backup...

Tracker reset will do the job too...

if you could be so kind to provide me the command to do the two things. I will try the least devastating measure first. Thanks

Resetting of tracker:

Code:
tracker-control -r

Re-installation of packages:
Code:
apt-get install tracker --reinstall
apt-get install tracker-utils --reinstall

The above re-installation should be sufficient but if it still doesn't work you can re-install the below too:

Code:
apt-get install libtracker-client --reinstall
apt-get install libtracker-extract --reinstall
apt-get install libtracker-miner --reinstall
apt-get install libtracker-sparql --reinstall

well in the end tracker reset did the job but I erased all my contacts in the process. So needed to do some re syncing and merging. Thanks
