Crop should appear as square for background images, best would be 854x854 to ensure working properly both in portrait and landscape.
i think if u keep the Portrait shape as it was and add crop setting for landscape only it would be good
also there is an issue it still exists from previous version that when selecting a pic for background or attach it loads forever sometimes i need to restart the application to let i work again
i also have an idea that when am not online could the Wazapp icon at the bottom of the screen color change from green to yellow for connecting and to red for offline ?? it would be nice that when am chatting i can know if i am online so the icon next to where am typing can show if am online
just an idea

yes i can put square background. vertical center using for portait view and horizontal center for portait.

I use N9 mostly in portrait view.. 'cause I think that, by now, keyboard it too high
