Got some time over today and planned top play with nemo on N9.

Everytime I try install nemo on N9 I fail in some way damnit

Last time because security didn't let me install but now I wiped everything and reinstalled Harmattan and after that I try flashed using:

https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nemo/Installing

using alternative: "Persistent Single Boot by Flashing the Dual Boot".

sudo flasher -a 059L7N7_N9 RM-696 Country Variant Sweden SE Magenta/A0E9827F_DFL61_HARMATTAN_40.2012.21-3.339.2_PR_LEGACY_339_ARM_RM-696_PRD_signed.bin -k ./usr/share/moslo/zImage-moslo -f

This time it flashed both APE and moslo image without error messages. But then it just reboot looped(seems like it does not success make ALT_OS parttion?). So I reinstalled original Harmattan again. Any hint what I am doing wrong?

I really want nemo on my magenta N9 because I plan to be more active in the nemo project now. But stuck already when flashing the image is kinda frustration.

@mikecomputing
Try to do with ubiboot project (triple boot).
But I think even that one explains to do as mer wiki explains.
Sorry cannot help you more as I did it just plain manual (repartitioned device and extracted nemo image).

The repartitioning with MOSLO should take int account the data on your MyDocs and accordingly either to refuse partititoning if there's not enough space or correctly split the drive and leave your data intact.

However, I have seen some glitches and I suggest you backup all data on your MyDocs, wipe it and then repartition either with MOSLO or manually on ubiboot repair mode.

And one word of caution, do not install the latest image on http://releases.nemomobile.org/releases/ as corrently Nemo is on transitional stage and quite a few things are broken...
See http://www.swagman.org/juice/ubiboot...06-27.dat.html for some discussion.

Hmm actually I have not tried wipe EMMC I will try that now. Loosing all data on magenta is not a problem anyway. The phone is just for exprimental stuff anyway (SIM lock is broken).

As long as I dont brick the phone and don't have to connect some jtag adapter its not a problem

EDIT: did not work :/

What did not work? What have you tried?
Does your device already has a different partitiln layout?

1. I wiped all data including EMMC (means totally fresh install of harmattan) then I enable developer mode only because I wanted to disable the warning when install new moslo below.

2 Using guide howto install nemo from the wiki option "persistent single boot"...

https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nemo/Installing

That just gave reboot loop. Possible because my N9 dont repartion for some wierd reason.

Now I tried the ubiboot option and the ubiboot kernel installs fine but now I am stuck showing green screen saying Boot menu script not found if USB cable not connected. When USB connected: Try 1(0) partition exported succefully and as it says, my linuxbox can mount /dev/sda1, sda2 and sda3.

BUT I have no clue where too install the nemo kernel image? sda2 seems to hold the Harmattan root partion (but there is no files in /boot??. But ubiboot guide says nothing about this?

So now I stuck with green screen until find better guide...

So you followed this
https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Nem...al-boot_method
guide explicitly? And then get stuck?

Did you flash the eMMC image? Or just deleted data from p1?
What is your partition layout? Is it changed? Please show us output of 'sfdisk -l' then.

I took the liberty of creating a Wiki Page for Ubiboot. So far so good. I have tried the steps multiple times (for testing) to ensure that the steps I have written work fine. I also had the Wiki page reviewed by juiceme himself.
