Try upgrading via x-terminal.

disable cssu devel repository.
enable only nokia repository , extras repository , cssu testing and cssu thumb.

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

you might need to run apt-get upgrade 2-3 times or manually update some packages.

DON'T REBOOT.

If you can't upgrade some packages post here before rebooting.
Hey Dude I did as you told me and it is done but calender and application manager shows internal error and they close immediately.

Thanks for the reply, FMG. It seems to be the most up to date version of libx11-data, which a few hundred X-related packages seem to depend on, so I cannot remove it.

What do you get on your phone if you do:

apt-cache show libx11-data

Oh, and FMG, I know we should only use HAM, but if you do apt-get upgrade don't you get offered the new version of libx11-data ?

It won't help.
stock kernel+thumb = unbootable N900.
cssu Thumb won't start with STOCK KERNEL.

edit: sorry for the late reply was busy.
The force closing can be of many reasons.
Few packages were kept back while upgrading.
/home/user is corrupt.
and many more.

Did you installed kernel power 52 by any chance?
Don't have much info about backup. I rarely used it expect with neopwn.

But it's strange I never had any trouble installing cssu thumb myself.
