Thanks both! I feel finally am making progress.

Free - lots of info - your link goes to a page with MANY command line interfaces, but have tried to install several and get an incompatible package error. Which one should I try?

rcull - datable installed fine, but freezes with the create new database window.. I have the python 2.5 runtilye installed.

Almost there...

These are the packages for debian package which still(?) doesn't include version for our devices. One is sqlite3, a CLI tool to access a sqlite3 database.

Actually I'm rebuilding it in case it's usefull and I get this funny messages..
[sbox-CHINOOK_ARMEL: ~/src/sqlite3-3.4.2] > tclsh ./tclinstaller.tcl 3.4
[sbox-CHINOOK_ARMEL: ~/src/sqlite3-3.4.2] > tclsh ./tclinstaller.tcl 3.4
qemu: uncaught target signal 4 (Illegal instruction) - exiting
[sbox-CHINOOK_ARMEL: ~/src/sqlite3-3.4.2] > tclsh ./tclinstaller.tcl 3.4
qemu: uncaught target signal 11 (Segmentation fault) - exiting
[sbox-CHINOOK_ARMEL: ~/src/sqlite3-3.4.2] > tclsh ./tclinstaller.tcl 3.4
Wonderful..

I've uploaded sqlite3 to my repo.

edit:
The dependency on libsqlite3 is too strong, it will pull my version of libsqlite3 which will override the one from repository.maemo.org.

[sbox-CHINOOK_ARMEL: ~/pool] > apt-cache policy libsqlite3-0
libsqlite3-0:
Installed: 3.4.1-1osso3
Candidate: 3.4.2-2
Version table:
3.4.2-2 0
500 http://debfarm.free.fr chinook/user Packages
*** 3.4.1-1osso3 0
500 http://repository.maemo.org chinook/free Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Usually I prefer to not override important stuffs from maemo.
This can *potentially* break above mentioned softwares depending on this lib. Needs to be checked.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

You can always revert back to old version of the lib..

I have just realised the wording on the "new" database dialog is not good. What I was expecting here was for you to enter a filename after the displayed pathname If you don't, yes it freezes. I will correct this and rerelease.
