He left Jolla probably some time before he joined Mozilla in October 2015. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/10...joins_mozilla/

What is interesting in his LinkedIn profile is that you can find information about his previous involvement in Nokia, HP, Intel and current work in Mozilla, but not a word about the fact that he was a board member of Jolla. Well doesn't suprise me much, nothing to be really proud of when taking into account current Jolla reputation, especially after not delivering tablets.

Well played, leaving one sinking boat into another; not a good timing to join Mozilla if they are ditching FirefoxOS Phones!

The fact that an offshoot of FFOS gets the funding and not Jolla tells us a lot about the investors' confidence.

Or about the pocket size of the investor

I'd assume jolla's investors were mostly European. I believe nowadays very few European investors could match such numbers.

That left us with Ubuntu as the only commercial alternative... for how long?

well firefox os is not dead. they have only ended the partnership for distribute it with telefonic operators. the developing and distribution via smartphone will go on
