I'm a fiction writer, and I'm really frustrated by the two onscreen stylus keyboad layouts for English (USA and UK). I do too much shifting, too much reaching from the very left (to shift) and to the right (for shifted punctuation).
I can easily lay out the character set I normally use for much more efficient tapping.
How hard is it to create and install another keyboad character layout?
The absolutely worst problem is that the double quote, so common in fictional writing, requires a shift. Digits are rarely needed. I'd rather shift to get digits, and have all my common punctuation on the "digit" keys.

(I'm using the N800, OS2008).
