Has anyone running Diablo been able to use a2dp? I get an error message when I try with mplayer:

alsa-lib: pcm_bluetooth.c:1589bluetooth_init) BT_GETCAPABILITIES failed : Input/output error(5)
alsa-init: playback open error: Input/output error

If we can track this down, I'm hopeful the dsp-sbc task will be ready to go

I've done it fine (mplayer .27 n8x0) with bluez .28 on a clean diablo install.

# time ./sbcenc test.snd > /dev/null
Do you have a link to the test.snd file? I'd like to benchmark the DSP decoder.

Is it possible to pause playing music when I get phone call without using n810 keyboard or screen?
Another word how to use headphone buttons?

Ok, I've re-paired and now I get data through. The DSP doesn't like it much though so I need to do some DSP code checking. Sorry for the noise.

DSP based SBC encoder:

https://garage.maemo.org/projects/dsp-sbc/

I've just released version 1.0.0.

Install it and see how it goes. Note that this is for Diablo only. Also check the install_sbcenc.sh file to check that it works correctly.

Please give feedback at the Garage project.

Enjoy,

Simon

Meh, forget kernel, all the easy and more worthwhile stuff is done by dbus. Go on bitsmithy.net.

Looking at my headset-control may be useful too.

Hi Simon, congratulations on the 1.0 release. I've installed it and it seems to perform pretty well; it consumes around 20% CPU time and doesn't break up much at all. I had one question though; how can I make sure I'm using the DSP-based codec instead of the software one? I installed the bare minimum of things including your bluez-utils package and ran the install script. I specifically avoided libdbus-1-2_0.61-osso13fix3, plugz-svn_20070608-1, and sbc-svn_20070608-1. MPlayer works fine and automatically connects to the headphones although Kagu produces hissing garbage mixed with what I'm trying to play.

Thanks-
Larry
