I guess so. I've tried kde and openbox wm and did not have any window problem.

Hum window decoration is pretty awfull. I'll have to choose between this and leaving as it is now.. or maybe making a higher level app that calls the xmmsctrl trick.

Sweet.
Today's update puts the file open dialogue in front.
Thank you, free.

Anybody know how to get relative playlists to work?
I have a million winamp playlists, formatted as
\tunes\artistdirectoryname\songname.mp3
or
..\tunes\artistdirectoryname\songname.mp3
These work under Windows or Rockbox as long as they're on the same drive as the MP3s.
Obviously I need to swap the unix/ for the Windows\.
I can make it work if I do
/media/mmc1/tunes/artistdirectoryname/songname.mp3
but I want it to work in either N800 card slot.
My unix syntax skills are completely lacking.

Did you check in options:
Use \ as directory delimiter?

edit:
checked, it worked, example of .pls:

[playlist]
NumberOfEntries=2
File1=..\Electronique\00-octogen_-_cside_(d_beat_remix_by_silicon).mp3
File2=..\Electronique\05 - Fred Wesley & The Horny Horns - Four Play.mp3

Here's the changelog:

xmms (1:1.2.10+20070601-1-maemo.11.n800) unstable; urgency=low

* Removed second argument check in postinst
[ KotCzarny ]
* Make new windows child
[ Terrence Fleury ]
* Desktop file is in hildon now

It still uses 1.2.10 from xmms team and probably I'll stick to this one, which works. I still haven't seen really an added value on the 1.2.11.

Awww, man, you spoiled all my fun.
I was just about to go back through my DOS archives,
looking for a copy of MultiEdit, because I was pretty sure
it would globally search and replace across a bunch of files.
I was looking forward to it, too.

Anyway, totally works.

I've just tried xmms (version 1.2.10+20070601-1-maemo.11.n800) and played an ogg file, but I can't see the accented characters! What should I do?

As said IN THE FIRST POST, it has been removed from this xmms.

Now, I just rebuild, changed a few settings and get partial results, needs more testing. I think the tablet (libc?) is not properly configured for utf8. Maybe simply a font missing. If anybody has played with utf8 on the tablet, (s)he can send me PM to help me get this quicker.

There's nothing about this in the first post.

The tablet is properly configured. In fact, UTF-8 is the only available locale on it, and any standard application works correctly. I think that the problem is that xmms uses the obsolete GTK1, which seems to use bitmap fonts.

Hum yes, I realized I removed this info from the first thread sorry.
And in fact the tests I did concerning utf8 were wrong, I just checked again and that's true, utf8 is working.
I'll look into this for the next build. I also want accented caracters.
