professional mobile-phone geek. In some respects (mostly SMS related) an uber-geek.

I'm a Solutions Architect, specialising in the mobile market, making phones do strange things over-the-air. And if Nokia had an R&D department anywhere north of Birmingham in the UK I'd be hammering on their door so hard...

Before that a Senior developer, and long before that a web code-monkey

I help my mom run her website be sometimes writing flash/java games, tutorials, etc.

Recently finished an internship in market research. It was really fun, because I got to read and write about Symbian, Android, Maemo, Moblie Linux, Windows Mobile, and different processors (and more fun stuff), and got PAID to do it.
Will you mentor my two lazy teens?

I guess I should chime in...

Current position Sr. Hardware Design Engineer, power electronics. (Mostly for GSM base stations, so there is a good possibility that if you own/use GSM (including GPRS/EDGE) phone, the base station tranciever unit you were connected may have been powered by my design... )

Previously I did work for smaller company where I did all this:
- IT System admin (Windows NT network)
- Electronics design engineer (power electronics)
- Printed Wiring Board design
- Design test fixtures and and program automated testers

engineer student here...probably getting into computer engineer or electric engineer. Have about a year to make my choice... computer seems more likely, though.

I earn my living as webmaster for a major University (not hard to figure out) for the last fifteen years. When I started programming it was with punch cards in high school. When I started working on the web I used a Mosaic browser and my first website had a grey background. Now I program with PHP and XML, SQL, etc...still neat stuff!

My degree, on the other hand, is in Art History. My Masters thesis was on a 12th century Romanesque church in Catalonia.

My passion is food and wine. I've been a waiter all my life. I work as a wine steward in a five-star restaurant in the Hill Country.

And my Mom always wanted to know when I was going to get a 'real' job.
