hi once more,

how do i view the path /home/user/.tuxpaint/saved/

aparenttly the files i want are located in that folder but how do i access them and see them?

can i do it on the nit or do i have to copy them off the denive ro a pc [!pc!]?

If you don't have a file manager like Emelfm2, in the terminal: "cd $HOME/.tuxpaint/saved/" (without quotes).

Then you can open them with an image viewer, copy them somewhere else, etc.

it did not work? -sh: cd: can't cd to /home/user/.tuxpaint/saved/ i'll try and install emelfm2

ok i have emelfm2 installed and will read the online user guide tonight, i have found a file relating to tuxpaint, /usr/bim/tuxpaint but i cannot wotkout how to open it and view the files inside..... any suggestions would be welcomed.

Try to go step by step:
1.) cd /home/user
2.) cd .tuxpaint
3.) cd saved

You can check then where the problem is.

this is what happened

~$ cd /home/user
~$ cd /.tuxpaint
-sh: cd: can't cd to /.tuxpaint

hmmmmmmmmmmm i'll google it and see what it comes up

but any wisdom would be great

That path does not exist on your system, so you can't go there.

I think tuxpaint stores its data on one of the mmcs, anyway.

i don't even know what a mmcs is, i guse it's something to do with memory, google suggested several things including a school in china i belive, maybe i should just buy a touch screen laptop?.... one final thing, [for tonight anyway] the gimp.... anyone know ora link to a download that should work on a n800? the dowmload i tryed failed to work, so i'll try that download on a n810 now.

mmc
They're mounted at /media/mmc1 and /media/mmc2; look there.
