Holy hell. I have a lot to catch up on.
The trip was very rewarding. My enthusiasm over this platform is both reaffirmed and renewed. Did you all see the flickr pool so far?

Created a public Flickr pool for the summit:

So to add a couple of bits and bobs:

Widgets to be made more finger friendly, whether this goes as far as no stylus and multi-touch I don't know (and hope not).

DSP to be used for video decoding, ARM for audio decoding.

UI to use Clutter (use not be based on).

More when I dig out my notes.

Most frustrating thing for me? They announced a new open source wlan driver (yawn), but said nothing about the PowerVR drivers (I thought they were hoping to have an announcement for the summit, but the talk page has remained dormant for months -- and Kate was there). Combined with the no-go on the video-out hack, I felt like the very coolest stuff regarding the current platform was kept off the table, while they "waved around" a Beagle Board and puffed lots of vapour around about Freemantle.

Open-source WLAN driver was one of the big things holding back kernel upgrades and fully free distributions, though... It's no small deal, though it is way less glamorous than a binary release of powerVR drivers.

Of course, I didn't say it wasn't important, I just said it was boring. If the open wlan driver wasn't so alpha-state it might have been cooler, but its still way off from being a drop-in replacement for the closed one.

Hopefully more than expectations.

Thankfully now I know how to present.
All I have to do is be talking to someone and explaining it and I don't care if theres a 50foot screen behind me
