attila77: remember that you can't just issue a "capture-image" command on the tablets; must use a script in order to keep gphoto2 from rebooting your tablet. Nobody knows why, that's just what you gotta do.

Actually, that is me, so it is exactly the same app as I have no my personal web page. Nothing better -- nothing worse

Ok, I will try it out once I get USB working in host mode. I need some kind of adapter for that I noticed.

Bastiaan:

Sorry, I guess I was a bit confused about your posting -- I thought that you were already 'aware' of the 'gphoto2' binaries being discussed in this thread, but perhaps that that the link that you mentioned was a 'different' one that the one mentioned in this thread (and my web page) -- which it is not

Hi Dare, I indeed though that the version over there was different from the one posted on your website. On the garage site it says "Production/Stable", while in this thread it doesn't really sound that stable. That was why I thought it might be a different version.

I will try to find a suitable adapter today and see it I can take pictures with my Nikon D60 via gphoto running on my N800. Thanks in advance for all your effort.

Well, since I made no changes to the code when compiling it from source, I guess it is as 'stable' as the i386 version of gphoto2

Yes, it is always good to find out how well this port works for different makes/models of cameras (though I cannot personally do anything to make it work 'better').

If you didn't make any changes I would agree it is fair to call it stable. I haven't been able to get an adapter to connect my camera to my N800. I have ordered one online so I will have to wait a bit longer

I have been able to get a hold of an USB adapter and have tried to take a picture from my N800. Unfortunately it failed.. My setup: N800 connected to a Nikon D60. For the record, I'm able to capture images from my desktop with gphoto2.

This is the script I have used:

http://bastiaannaber.com/tmp/gphoto.txt

And this is the output:

http://bastiaannaber.com/tmp/my-logfile.txt

The error:

context(0): An error occurred in the io-library ('Unspecified error'): No error description available

Hmm... anyone any suggestions?
