I got an nokia n810 yesterday and when I try to update the firmware I get the following error:

The current firmware version is os2008 1.2007.42-18. I'm using the nokia tablet updater when I get this error. Any ideas or help would be great.

Nasty Windows flasher!

Can you use a Linux machine (as root) to perform the flash? Or a Linux LiveCD?

I've personally never had any success flashing with the Windows flasher, though I've never had any Java errors I must add.

I wonder if it's actually a memory corruption problem or to do with permissions and where it tries to download the firmware before flashing it?

In any case I'd add a bug to the bugtracker.
